I'm very interested in using SPEK. It would be ideal if I could start SPEK from my Visual Basic program, with the indicated audio file.
Is this possible or is this feature on the shortlist?

I've downloaded and installed the application and it appears that SPEK doesn't feature command line support. You will have to send an email to the developers in order to find out how to embed the software for your needs. As I see, SPEK is actually one executable file. You can pack it with your software and call it from Visual Basic, but lacks command line options which makes it very hard to implement.
Yes, Spek is compatible with macOS Catalina (64-bit).
